About Me

I grew up wanting to be many things, A ballet dancer, a doctor, a Marine and when my dreams of becoming a mermaid didn't pan out I set myself on a path to become a nurse much like my aunt Amber. I saw what she had, a house, money and what my single mother had always sought, stability. I equated money with happiness at a very young age so I chose a career that mildly interested me that paid well and I never took my sights off of it for 7 years. Except then I did.
In 2012 I made the best decision of my life. I purchased a camera. As a teenager I had always dreamed of owning a Canon. At the time I knew nothing of the real substantial value about the technology or why it was any better or worse than another brand but something about the striking black body of the camera and the red border of the strap gave it an air of prestige. It was shiny and coveted, quite the opposite of the cameras that I would check out from my high school. As I unwrapped my first Canon camera a sense of elation overcame me. I didn't know but at the time that I also had unwrapped my dreams.
Fast forward to today I have had the honor of documenting both vacationers and the nuptials of many beautiful couples. I have finally broken free of relying on stability and security and have started to really live. Quitting my job and diving in headfirst to this amazing and unpredictable career has brought me more happiness than I ever thought possible. It is with such joy that I wake up every day to live out these dreams and to capture a moment in time where you are experiencing yours.
